I had a retrofitted kit from a Maxima, D2S bulbs, and they completely sucked. This is likely what you're referring to when talking about modifying the projector. Otherwise, you may be referring to changing the angle on the '99 Xenons, which are angled for RHD cars and tend to shine in the face of oncoming traffic in the US. Nowadays, purchasing a 9006 kit is well worth the money, esp. the Kaixen kit for only $275. The safety the extra brightness provides easily justifies the price. I personally purchased a Philips Ultinon 6k 9006 kit, which is still difficult to find, let alone at a decent price. IMO the Kaixen kit is your best bet, and you won't be let down. Cheers,
